food and drink

For our bff sleepover, Byron was kind enough to get out his barware and serve us up some fancy drinks. The one on the left is called Satan's Whiskers. The tall drink is called a Perfect Storm. Sometimes the best bar in town is your own home, complete with pajamas and lounging in the couch.

We managed to get up fairly early Saturday morning so I could take Beth to the Durham Farmer's market. We had some really delicious food from Only Burger and Cafe Prost Pretzels. That is a fried green tomato and fried egg sandwich. Usually the tomato and egg are used as toppings on their burgers. Amazing, right? They were super tasty together even without the burger.

Beth chose a gruyere pretzel from Cafe Prost. They have quite the selection of savory and sweet pretzels to choose from. We continued on a tour of Durham (shopping) and went to downtown's newest restaurant, Taberna, for lunch. They serve all kinds of tapas including salads and sandwiches. I've been really into arugula lately so I couldn't pass up their salad with ham, goat cheese and honey drizzled on top. We also sampled some of their potato tapas. We had the chipotle-ranch variety. They were really flavorful. I can't wait to go back for dinner and take Byron.
